Syed Adil bin Syed Abd. Nasir - Intern and KPMG Education Trust Fund Recepient Biodata: Student, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Education Trust Fund recipient Audit Internship June - November 2007
All my life Ive made it a point to strive for the best regardless of the obstacles that stand in my way. While pursuing my studies in UiTM, I was granted an offer I could not resist, that was an offer from the KPMGs Trust Fund. With a promising financial aid and a job offer after my graduation, who can refuse? This was the start of my relationship with KPMG.
I started my practical training at KPMG on 1 June 2007, not without some reservations that I might not be able to cope in an accounting environment that requires mind endurance and an adherence to tight deadlines. However, I had an enjoyable time as an intern at KPMG. It was such a blessing and learning experience to work in the positive environment at KPMG.
I find the senior staffs across the ranks to be very friendly and approachable. Though I was only an intern, they treated me as one of the professionals. They set many good examples of professionalism and work attitude and still take time to laugh and joke around together. When I assisted them in audit jobs, they appreciated my efforts although there were times I felt that my assistance was simply a small help.
One important thing I would like to highlight is the sincerity of senior staffs in guiding me to comprehend the audit process. Despite their heavy workload and the rush to meet deadlines, they never hesitated to guide and teach me. The staffs from other departments such as Human Resources, Administration and IT were also very helpful, friendly and patient in dealing with me.
I have been fortunate to be accepted into KPMG as I am confident that this firm will help me develop to my full potential. I know I will not gain this opportunity and experience in other firms. Saying thank you is not enough to show my gratitude to KPMG and its staffs. I will keep the courtesy and kindness of KPMG staffs as a valuable memory to reflect upon. I look forward to re-joining the KPMG family after I graduate.
